What's next....
A huge thank you to all of the brave folks that ventured down to the Deep Freeze Festival…. It definitely lived up to its name this year! We don’t have any more markets planned for this winter season but if you'd like to visit us at our sewing space we'd love to see you. We're located in Bonnie Doon and love to have visitors to the sweat(er) shop!
jj wool company
In late November 2013, we began sewing mittens from recycled wool sweaters as a fund raiser for a once in a lifetime charity bike ride the following year. We reached our goal and then rode 1800 kms home from Haida Gwaii, BC with a custom carved totem pole, which you can now see at the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton. The demand for these mittens and the amount of fun we had creating these little works of art moved us, literally, and after much deliberation, we created the jj wool company!
But we haven’t just stood still… we continue to ride our bikes everywhere and are constantly inspired by the variety of gorgeous wool garments we've found. We've created a whole bunch of new clothing and accessories... from our ‘get your ass outside’ sweater skirts to the smallest of Dumpling pouches.
