When there's a chill in the air, we'll be there!
Mark your calendars: we will be popping up at the SYC Brewery this Saturday!!! November 15 from 1-6 pm. (Taproom is at 11239-180 street in Edmonton) Look for our new MittenMobile parked outside. Jenn will be opening the back gates to reveal the woolly merch!!
We will be one of the 75 vendors at the Canmore Christmas Artisans' Market. We love this market! It's at the Canmore Recreation Centre (1900-8th Avenue, Canmore) for two days. Saturday, November 22 and Sunday November 23 from 10-4 pm. It's a highly curated local market that's worth the drive!
Once we're back in Edmonton we will be setting up at a few local venues.
Saturday, December 6 and Friday, December 12 from 6-9 pm. Come on down to the Little Brick Cafe for their Holiday Market. (10004-90 Street). The setting is always fun at Little Brick but it's especially warm and cozy in the winter with twinkle lights and fire pits on their outdoor patio.
Saturday, December 13 we'll be heading over to Tulip Sandwich Shoppe and OTTO Food & Drink (11405-95 Street). You've got all day to get over to this neighbourhood gathering place... we'll be there 10am-3pm.
Friday, December 19 (3-8pm) and Saturday, December 20 (10am-4pm) we'll be set up in the workspace of Sabrina Butterfly Designs (6007-120 Avenue). Her entire collection is cut + sewn in this studio, now that's local! And for two days she lets us take over her working space so we can sell our locally grown and hand sewn woolly items.
jj wool company
In late November 2013, we began sewing mittens from recycled wool sweaters as a fund raiser for a once in a lifetime charity bike ride the following year. We reached our goal and then rode 1800 kms home from Haida Gwaii, BC with a custom carved totem pole, which you can now see at the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton. The demand for these mittens and the amount of fun we had creating these little works of art moved us, literally, and after much deliberation, we created the jj wool company!
But we haven’t just stood still… we continue to ride our bikes everywhere and are constantly inspired by the variety of gorgeous wool garments we've found. We've created a whole bunch of new clothing and accessories... from our ‘get your ass outside’ sweater skirts to the smallest of zip cases.
